FOCUS ON TRAINING

Young musicians from all over the world receive intensive education at the highest but also the most personal level. Within various phases in a symphonic orchestra, at individual, sectional or tutti rehearsals, but also at concerts, their work is led and accompanied by mentors. The invaluable experience of playing and cooperating with mentors throughout the rehearsals and at concerts develops the dynamic and supports the passion in music performance. The Orchestra Academy participants get the necessary technical and interpretive skills, the confidence in re-acting and collaboration within the orchestra, the knowledge of different styles and manners of playing, the knowledge of adjusting, etc. The Orchestra Academy is held throughout two years in ten working phases. The aim of several phases is a continuous work and performance of the orchestra, in which young musicians gain an enormous amount of knowledge about orchestra performance and connectivity within the orchestra.

ENCOURAGING INVALUABLE DIALOGUE

The mentors of the Orchestra Academy are internationally distinguished musicians, working at leading positions in the best orchestras. At the same time they serve as leaders of the sections in Ljubljana International Orchestra. Instrumental mentors for all instruments or bigger sections are from: Vienna Philharmonic, London Symphony Orchestra, Orchestra Mozart Bologna, Camerata Salzburg, Luzern Festival Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, Bavarian State Opera Munich, RTV Slovenia Symphony Orchestra, Slovenian Philharmonic, Orchestra Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Orchestra della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano, Ensemble Modern, Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, etc.

FOCUS ON HIGHLEVEL PERFORMANCE

The Orchestra Academy enables young musicians to work intensively within an orchestra with international musicians, to develop their potential and gain invaluable experience for their future endeavours. The educational program of the academy has two aims: IMPROVEMENT AND EXCELLENCE. These set high standards for the orchestra performance of the most demanding programmes with different conductors and internationally distinguished soloists. The REPERTOIRE is diverse and purposed for different ensembles, from the biggest symphonic orchestra to a chamber group without the conductor.

The Orchestra, 8 conductors, 8 concertmasters and 8 timpanists are all participating in 3 different unique master classes at a time gaining invaluable experience. In an artificially created real-life situation they learn to adapt quickly, follow the different conductors and arts of conducting, different concertmasters and timpanists and independent organisation within an orchestra. The participants passively participate in 3 master classes (also at the individual preparation if they wish), they are active in the process of communication between the leading positions, they get more familiar with the entire scores of the music and the analysis, they consolidate the programme already performed and work on the new one that they will perform after this master class. The musicians will gain feedback and comments from professors that lead the master classes from their perspectives.
